Cravings

August 18, 2009 – 7:15 pm

Have you ever tried to track how many times you’ve overcome a craving? This is an intersting exercise to try because “what get’s measured gets better”. Try to overcome 100 cravings. My definition of ‘overcome’ is to delay giving in to a craving for 30 minutes.

The more times you overcome a craving the more confidence you will develop. After you’ve beat 100 cravings, even if  you’ve given in 100 times as well, you’ll begin to realize that a craving is not the end of the world. You can do what is best for your health because you’ve done it 100 times already.

It’s also intersting to note that when you’re hungry eating anything will stop the hunger. When  you’re experiencing a craving it’s a specific food you crave. This is one way to tell the difference between being hungry and having a craving.
